You can share auth between API and UI tests, persist a logged-in storageState, and run hundreds of these in parallel. For regression — the same endpoints checked the same way on every push — this is excellent, and it lives right beside your E2E tests.
Where Postman still wins
- Manual exploration. When you're poking at a new endpoint, tweaking a header, trying three payloads to see what sticks — Postman's GUI is faster than editing a test file and re-running. There is no equivalent loop in Playwright.
